Wımbledon Round up Week One

This, in my opinion has got to be the most farcical tournament at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. A rain interrupted first week of the Wimbledon tennis tournament has meant that management will have to fork out a million pounds as reimbursement to inconvenienced fans that did not get to watch any tennis on Sunday. This of course underscores the fact that the retractable roof cannot come quick enough.

As for the tournament itself, well the standard of play has been somewhat below par so far. Of the games that I have watched, Ferrera vs. Blake seems to be the most memorable. But having said that, I also came to the realisation that James Blake is not of championship calibre after losing the game to Ferrera, a game that I feel he should have won. He did not seem comfortable on grass, which apparently is his better surface.

So Federer should win his fifth title seeing as Rafael Nadal, despite the evident improvement, has not done enough to trouble arguably the best grass court player of all time. (My personal opinion)
