The Tour, Doping and Obesity.....

It seems as though the Tour de France is in need of a thorough overhaul. Sometime during the night the race leader Michael Rasmussen riding for the Rabobank team, was fired and kicked out of the team because he missed a drugs test earlier in the year. What is even more surprising for me is the fact that Rasmussen was actually in the lead and looked set to win the title.

Earlier in the week the odds on favourite Alexandre Vinokourov was also kicked off the tour because he tested positive for "blood doping"....I know, I know, it sounds disgusting. A day after Vinokourov was kicked off the tour, the Italian Cristian Moreni also failed a doping test, testing positive for testosterone.

I don't know about you but it seems as though the bosses have a lot of work to do in terms of cleaning up the sport.

So it is official. Obesity is contagious. According a recent study by US researchers
having a friend, sibling or spouse who is overweight raises a person's risk of being obese too. The researchers were from Harvard Medical School and the University of California, in San Diego and they looked at data collected over 32 years as part of a heart study.

So at the risk of sounding politically incorrect, I will be going back to my phone book and contact lists, with the sole intent of having a frank conversations with certain people.
