In April I wrote about the player Thierry Henry and in that blog I assessed that it would be a good decision to get rid of Theirry Henry from an Arsenal point of view. Last month Henry left Arsenal to join FC Barcelona in a deal worth £16 Million. Yesterday's the dailies in UK reported that Henry and his wife of 4 years Nicole (someone) have separated and that lawyers had already been called in to oversee an amicable divorce.
This is a sad situation for Thierry Henry but the underlying issues are now starting to emerge as to what fuelled the transfer. In the papers Henry has been quoted as saying he wanted to leave England and everything English. (Or something to that effect.)
All I can say is sad as this maybe, Wenger was again right. Though his hand may have been forced to some extent, it overall seems to be the best decision.
I am not sure whether prenaptual agreements are available in the UK; if yes then I sure do hope that the man signed one. Otherwise we might just see the most expensive divorce payout in football. That record is currently held by Henry's former Arsenal team mate Ray Parlour.
