So how about those Chargers? All of a sudden they have come into contention. A run of 5 games has turned the AFC on its head and all of a sudden the weak underbelly of the Broncos has been exposed.
The Saints are still on course despite some sturn tests. Next weekends visit to the Dome by the Patriots will be a hamdinger of a game. I cannot wait to see what comes out of that one. Wise money will back the Saints to come through that one, but then you'd be disregarding Tom Brady and Randy Moss. Come on now!! What a spectacle that will be.
Anyway, the Eagles match on. We needed a favour from those Skins but that was asking too much. Had Dallas lost that game, then the NFC East would have had 3 teams with 6-4 records and all have to play each other one more time. Skins suck!!!
Premiership Football/Soccer
It is a well known fact that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is one of the few people who, if he asked me to gamble all my worldly possessions on red 7, I would do that without even questioning. So last week in an interview to French radio he revealed that positive thinking is the secret to free-flowing football. "[T]op-level sport becomes really interesting, in finding a way to have the team in a position of psychological comfort so that they can offer solutions."Click here to read to read article
So what must have been going through the Oracle of football's head when Arsenal lost to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light? In my many soccer exchanges, I stated that a Sunderland match up was always going to be a tricky one and that many top teams are likely to drop points there. Arsenal have to win the next game which is against Chelsea at the Emirates. Any other result will see us in a very tight spot going into December.
So Arsenal have dropped points and sit level on points with Tottenham (25 points). The latter team annhilated Wigan on Sunday (22/11/09) at White Hart Lane with an emphatic score line - 9-1. All I have to say to you Spurs fans is that this is a marathon and not a sprint. See you at the finish line. Oh! And I bet you Mr Levy is already plotting on releasing a 9 disk DVD boxset with each disc highlighting each goal.
NBA
The return of Pau Gasol has the Lakers back on song and playing the championship team that they are. But I have to return to my Kobe praising on this brief entry. Kobe is a rare breed in professional sports because he is a player who is still constantly improving event after most players at this stage of their careers have hit apotheosis. If you do not think that he is the master check out this shot he made last night:

Congratulations to Lee Westwood for winning the European Tour of Merit, but I have to give a special mention to Rory McIllroy who finished third. He is an exceptional talent and him playing on the PGA Tour can only make him a better player.
Finally Jimmie Johnson has proven that he owns Nascar after winning a record fourth consecutive championship Sunday night at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
