Eagles flying

We start off with my NFL team of choice the Philadelphia Eagles who took on the New York Giants. Most people have or had the Giants as a good team and I don’t. During the game a friend of mine sent me a message from the States saying and I quote: “Eagles Own NFC East this year…[T]hey are making the Giants look like...look like...well...quite frankly, what you said they were. Overrated.”

I have watched Giants play a few games now this season and their problem stems from the fact that Eli Manning does not have a go to guy in the offensive line. Of all the receivers in the team, Mario Manningham has impressed me the most. The Giants are going through a rebuild transition phase and they have pinned their future on Eli with the big money contract.

On the other hand, Eagles are playing the game from all over the pitch. They have Westbrook and DeSean Jackson (and of course Mike Vick) who at the business end of the season will come good. There is only one team to beat in the NFC and that is the Saints (8-0). I know that Eagles have already succumbed to them once already, and so too have everyone else so far but if and when they meet again, I expect this to be a tighter contest

* I think it is worth mentioning that Dallas Cowboys are likely to cause problems in the NFC East but Tony Romo is too inconsistent. I doubt that Dallas can shut down both DeSean and Maclin. Oh! and to you Dallas fans I've got one number for you: 44-6. If Eagles win the game against Dallas on Sunday then we are definitely in the driving seat with Chargers and Bears to follow.
