What's the verdict?

As an update to my previous post (See Who Said Crime Doesn't Pay?), the jury has just delivered a guilty verdict on the Lord Black fraud trial. He has been convicted of 3 charges of fraud and obstraction of justice but a unanimous verdict could not be reached on charges relating to racketeering, tax evasion and the misuse of corporate perks. (Source FT.com) The sentence due to be handed down later in the year could be anything upwards of 35 years but ofcourse pending appeal.

The verdict should also open the flood gates for civil law suits that could ultimately bankrupt him.
It took the jury 12 days to deliver this verdict but owing to the recent corporate crime scandals, I will not be surprised if the Judge feels the need to set an example of Lord Black, to hopefully deter others.

We shall see....
